10 Summer Beauty Trends You Should Want

10 Summer Beauty Trends You Should Want

Hey, so in case you haven’t noticed, it’s the middle of the summer. While for some the glass is half empty, for us the glass is still half full of a cold alcoholic beverage. In other words, you still have time to take advantage of the summer and get your face-game on. Which is why we’ve compiled a list of 10 must-do thing during the summer in order to take everything you can, before the harsh cold fall and winter start.

Get Baked (A tan, not high)

OK, I know, this one’s a little simple, but the reason why we put it on this list is because there is no perfect time to get a tan than now. Look, everyone wants to look like a bronze prince from time-to-time, but what are you going to do when the Sun doesn’t come out in the winter. What are you going to do then? Which is why you need to get a tan while you still have sunshine, so you won’t have to go to a tanning salon later on and continue to develop your claustrophobia. The Sun is pretty much scorching right now, it’s out there for most of the day, and best of all: it’s completely free (cuz it’s the Sun). Just remember not to overcook yourself.

Use Masks…

…a lot of them. Look, the summer heat is really nice, but it can still cause a lot of dryness and dehydration. In order to keep your face moist and the skin supple, make sure to use as many masks as possible to keep your skin healthy and vibrant. And so what if the masks might scare your neighbors; you scare your neighbors even without the mask.

Special Creams (not the edible kind)

During the summer, you’re going to get burned. And I don’t mean emotionally. I mean your skin; it’s going to get burned. Now, we can’t always walk around with layers of sunscreen on every part of our body, so some kind of skin damage is expected. Which is why it is recommended that in the case of sunburned skin, where the skin may not have healed equally, make sure to use special creams to regenerate and smooth out the damaged skin. Also try not to eat them, no matter how good they smell. I’ve learned that the hard way (though it still hasn’t stopped me).

Hair Removal

So, it’s summer, you’re wearing less clothes, people can see *more* of you, and if you don’t want to look like a yeti, you should probably look into some kind of hair removal. It’s hot outside anyway, so you probably want to spend a large potion of your day inside, which is even better, since after hair removal, your skin shouldn’t be exposed to the Sun. So, go get those annoying hair removed, go back home, have a cold beer, and watch some of your favorite shows.

Exfol… Efoxli… Exfoliation

Right, so our skins are a pretty complicated thing. There’s so much care needed to make sure it’s completely healthy. One of the best ways to make sure that your skin is as healthy as it can be being through a little procedure (with a very hard to pronounce name) called exfoliation. Basically, a special tool is used to cut off old, unhealthy skin, and let new and vibrant skin grow back. So, yeah, it sounds scary, but remember, the scarier something sounds, the safer it’s probably going to be (I’m pretty sure that’s not true).

Don’t Forget the Lips

You probably don’t like it when your lips dry up. Sure, they dry up mostly in the winter’s cold weather, but remember, that they are just as susceptible to damage during the summer as they are in the cold weather. The heat can dry them up and turn them flaky, and the Sun’s UV rays can even cause extensive damage to them. So, remember to apply the proper creams and balms to your lips, to keep them hydrated and protected.

Hydrate Your Skin (With Science!)

Do you like masks? No, I don’t mean the cream kind, I mean the actual masks, like the ones you cannot in any way eat? (Hasn’t stopped me from trying.) Listen, there’s this cool new facial treatment and it involves this big mask that you put on, where else, your face. The inside of the mask is covered in special LED lights, which when turned on, will do some science mumbo jumbo and your face gets smoother. Unfortunately, I can’t go into too much detail about this (it’s a top 10, not “why light therapy is so cool”), but the procedure still works, and has shown some great results. Also, this one will definitely scare your neighbors.

Steaming (yourself)

Hey, you know what you can do when it’s over 120 degrees outside? Find a place that’s even hotter! Yeah, this might seem a little odd to say, but steaming can be a great way to open up your pores and clean your skin during the hot summer. With all the dirt, dust and bacteria floating around, steaming is quite important, and pretty simple. All you have to do is sit somewhere very hot (generally a sauna, but if the inside of your car feels like the surface of the Sun, then why not) and sweat until all those nasty things flow out of your body.

Clean Out Those Pores

The title says it all. Clean out those pores. Those pores can get really clogged up, and the last thing you need is feeling all that oil on your face. So, whether they are any of the procedure above, or any other that you think is reliable, make sure to clean out those pores, since summer is the dirty season, and dirty season means a dirty face.

Hydration (of the face, though do remember to drink water too)

Now, we all know (at least I hope so) that winter is the driest season. There is no doubt about that, but summer, while not as dry as winter, can still cause your skin to get dehydrated. Which is why it’s important to make sure your skin retains its moisture by the end of the season. And there is no better, more efficient procedure, than the Intraceuticals O2 Facial. Basically, what this procedure does, is it cleans your skin, with the power of oxygen, and even smooths out wrinkles and other types of skin damage. And most importantly, your skin feels moist and hydrated immediately. So, if you’re looking to moisturize your skin, do try an oxygen facial.

There you have it, some recommendations to keeping a healthy face during the summer. Besides this, I could also recommend not getting TOO drunk, not eating TOO much, and remember that we’ve already gone through half the summer, so don’t get TOO happy. But do remember to enjoy yourself while the Sun is still shining (and also melting bumpers off of cars).
