Alluring, luscious and enticing, others have gone ahead to call them divine. Yes, I am talking about lips that one can die for. Who would not want their lips to be described like that? I know I would. However, it is not uncommon to have thin lips. Maybe you’ve looked in the mirror a couple of times and wished you have fuller and more plumped up lips, that maybe that is the one flaw on your otherwise perfect face. Worry not, though, MiracleFace MedSpa got you. Do you wish to have fuller lips? Is it your desire to don lips that are perfect for your face? If yes, then worry not, you are at the right place.
What is lip augmentation?
Let me introduce you to lip augmentation. This is a cosmetic procedure that guarantees plump lips. What does it entail? What makes it tick? How does it work? Lip augmentation is a simple procedure of injecting dermal fillers into the lips and voila! Instant plump lips. Lip fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid, which is found in all body tissues. When it is administered to your lips, it draws water molecules and expands, that is the magic behind lip fillers; simple, right?
Do Lip Fillers have any side Effects?
It is only normal to have doubts about a new procedure to you, so you might be wondering whether or not lip augmentation has side effects. Well, it is your lucky day. Lip fillers have been known not to have any long term medical side effects. This is mostly attributed to the fact that hyaluronic acid is the component used, and it is not unfamiliar to the body (all body tissues have it).
The only worry with the procedure is the slight bruising that results from the injections. A few black and blues is the worst case scenario and this only last a day or two after the procedure. However, caution should be taken with the procedure and it should only be done by a licensed professional. More so, to get exactly what you need out of the procedure, you need professional care.
Preparing for a lip augmentation procedure
You have finally decided to have your lips filled, and you need to get ready for the procedure. So, what do you need to do prior to your procedure? Your only worry with the procedure is a little bruising and that is what needs to be taken care of in advance. How? Some medication that cause blood thinning, which is the tendency of blood not to form a clot, should be avoided at all cost. Medication such as aspirin and ibuprofen should not be taken for atleast 14 days before the augmentation. That is the one major thing you should do in preparation for your procedure. You do not need to know all this now, though, since once you book a lip augmentation with us, we will guide you through every step of the way.
The healing Process
The procedure takes around half an hour or slightly more, and no you don’t have to stay the night at the hospital since it is a simple office procedure. After the lip injection, your lips fill out instantly but will be slightly swollen. It takes about a day or two for the swelling and the bruising to disappear and for your lips to set to their new size. It is advised that you don’t eat immediately after the procedure until you have regained sensation in your lips. You might also not be able to work out for a day or two after the procedure. However, your doctor should be able to give you the best advice on what and what not to do after your procedure based on your personal procedure and results.
