Dermal Fillers

The vast majority of dermal fillers are currently based on naturally occurring sugar called hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid plays a variety of crucial roles in hydration of various tissues and as a cushioning agent. Young, healthy skin contains a lot of hyaluronic acid, but aging and sun exposure reduce its amount and cause skin to lose structure and volume.

While it has a lot of medical applications, pure hyaluronic acid is a poor candidate for correcting facial volume deficits because it is rapidly degraded by a special enzyme called hyaluronidaze.

To better serve multiple esthetic needs it has been reformulated in a special way to prevent this natural, but unwanted degradation. The way that this is achieved is through cross-linking of various hyaluronic acid molecules which lead to a much longer lasting effect.

This allows for optimal correction of various facial volume deficits including tear troughs (deep creases under eyes), sagging cheeks, nasolabial lines (deep folds, also called smiley lines), lip augmentation, and a variety of focal deficits, such as small wrinkles and indentations anywhere on the face and other parts of the body. The degree of cross-linking and molecular weight determines the viscosity of a gel and its application to restore volume deficit.

Procedural cost: New client special $499 per syringe (compare to $799).

Area: Tear trough (under eyes), deep wrinkles of the forehead, décolleté.

Frequency: Once every 6-9 months.

Results: Smooth and even appearance of the area under the eye after volume deficit is corrected.

Procedure: 20-30min, a small poke is made with a tiny needle, and through this opening a blunt ending needle called cannula is threaded until it reaches the deep corner of the eye. It is virtually painless, and slight pressure is the only discomfort infrequently reported. After gel is deposited, the cannula is withdrawn. For other areas the standard needle is used.

Procedural cost: New Client Special $450 for 1 syringe, $800 when you buy 2 (compare to $799 for 1 syringe).

Area: Nasolabial folds (smiley lines), lips..

Frequency: Once every 6-12 months.

Results: Restoration of volume and wrinkle/fold reduction in the area of deficit. The results are visible immediately after the procedure and reach maximum effect within the few days. Minor bruising will resolve within a few days.

Procedure: 20-30min. The needle is threaded into the region of interest and the gel is deposited in retrograde fashion, until satisfactory degree of correction or enhancement is achieved. For lip augmentation multiple injections are performed into the body of both lips to achieve optimal results.  A local anesthetic may be used to reduce discomfort. The area may also be gently massaged after the treatment. Once treatment is complete, patients can return, with virtually no downtime, to their regular activities. For the first 24 hours after treatment, to reduce the risk of complications, patients should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and alcohol consumption.

Procedural cost: New Client Special $600 for 1 syringe, $1100 when you buy 2 (compare to $1099 for 1 syringe).

Area: Cheeks (maxillary region), lips.

Frequency: Once every 10-18 months.

Procedure: 20-30min. For cheek augmentation the needle is advanced directly perpendicular to the skin surface until it is in contact with the bone. The gel is then deposited onto the periosteum to achieve a scaffolding effect and provide necessary support to restore midface volume. For lip augmentation multiple injections are performed into the body of the lip to achieve optimal results.  Once treatment is completed, patients can return, with virtually no downtime, to their regular activities. For the first 24 hours after treatment, to reduce the risk of complications, patients should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and alcohol consumption.

Results: Restoration of midface volume to maintain a youthful facial contour through a nonsurgical liquid facelift. The results are visible immediately after the procedure and reach maximum effect within the few days. Minor bruising will resolve within a few days. Because of advanced cross-linking Juvederm Voluma resists degradation and lasts much longer compared to other similar products.

Procedural cost: New Client Special $450 for 1 syringe, $800 when you buy 2 (compare to $799 for 1 syringe).

Area: Nasolabial folds (smiley lines), lips, and other depressions depending on the skin analysis by the provider.

Frequency: Once every 6-12 months.
